In this ground breaking debut essay collection, featuring never-before-seen photos, actress Lily Collins - Star of Mortal Instruments and Rules Don't Apply - is opening a poignant, honest conversation about the things young women struggle with: body image, self-confidence, relationships, family, dating and so much more. For the first time ever, Lily shares her life and her own deepest secrets, proving that every single one of us experiences pain and heartbreak. We all understand what it's like to live in the light and in the dark. For Lily, it's about making it through to the other side, where you love what you see in the mirror and where you embrace yourself just as you are. She's learned that all it takes is one person standing up and saying something for everyone else to realise they're not alone. By turns hilarious and heartbreaking, Lily's honest voice will inspire you to be who you are and say what you feel. It's time to claim your voice! It's time to live your life unfiltered.
~I was sent a copy from the publishers - all opinions are my own~
I give it - 5/5
My review - I don't really read celebrity books but, when I heard Lily Collins was bringing one out I knew I had to get it as soon as it was released. (Lucky for me the wonderful Steph at Ebury sent me a copy, thank you again!) Lily Collins is one of my favourites. I follow her on instagram and I love looking at her pictures and she is so inspirational and so lovely to her fans.
Unfiltered is basically what it says on the tin. It is about Lily, her life unfiltered. I really love how the book was set out as you could read different parts each day. I defiantly need to get the audio book of it and give it another read. It would be amazing to listen too.
Lily isn't afraid to say what she feels and you can see that in this book. She wants everyone to be able to live the life they want. Some parts where really sad in this book but she shows what it's like living as a young woman in this age. With what she has dealt with and I just want to give her a big hug.
She is so inspiring and wants people to be able to love what they see in the mirror. She has fought the hardest to do that and I just loved reading about it.
I also loved the chapter on her eyebrows. That was my fave as her eyebrows are the best!
