Sometimes bad isn't good enough...
Lyle Tarpin appears to be a clean-cut Hollywood actor whose star is on the rise. Inside, he's battling demons and finding solace in a string of anonymous women paid well for their discretion. But when he's photographed in a compromising position, the only way to save his career is to claim his companion is his fiancee.
Struggling waitress Sugar Laine is the one woman who's ever managed to get under Lyle's skin. She only agrees to spend one night with him because she's desperate to save her family home.
Neither expects a night of passion and a pretend engagement will blossom into love. But sometimes love has a price. And is it one Lyle and Sugar can afford to pay?

My review

~I was sent a copy from the publishers - all opinions are my own~

I give it
- 4/5

My review - After reading this I know I have to read her Stark series. This was such a good book and I have been feeling like a good romance novel for awhile and this was what I needed. I love the writing and the plot and the characters weren't borrowing, they where interesting, they had depth and had their flaws which, made them human.

Laine is in dire need of some money. She needs enough to save her house and to save the memories of her family. Enter her friend who works for this company where she get quite a bit of money for a service. Lyle isn't looking for a relationship and prefers hiring these woman as they are bound by contract not to speak a word. But, when a photo appears of them both in a position that neither can talk their way out of they have to pretend for awhile.

But, one night might change everything. With secrets and things holding them back, can they finally allow themselves to be loved the way they deserve? Or, will something hiding in the dark threaten their relationship? Someone who might know too much about how they met?

I really loved the relationship between Laine and Lyle. They had such a good connection and I really enjoyed reading about both of them. They both have a lot going on in their lives and past. They are dealing with things in different ways and they find comfort in each other.

A wonderful romance novel from J Kenner and I can't recommend it enough. A story of finding love when you least expect it and coming to terms with your past.
