It's been months since Aden Colt left the Army, and still the memories haunt him. When he moved into a tiny boat off the California coast, he thought he'd found the perfect place to escape life. Then Sawyer shows up and turns his simple life upside down. Beautiful and sophisticated, she seems out of place in this laid-back beach town. Something is pushing her to experience everything she can - including Aden. But as much as he wants her, starting a relationship with Sawyer puts them both at risk. For Aden, the past doesn't stay there; it shows up unexpectedly, uncontrollably, and doesn't care whose life it wrecks. He's not like other guys...

I give it - 4/5
My review - this book was so heartbreaking. Dealing with the loss of someone close to you is hard and all you want to do is just be by yourself.
Aden isn't dealing well with what happened when he was in the army. He now lives on a boat trying to get past what happened to him and his friends when he was in the army but, he can't get over it. Then Sawyer turns up. She is a little different from the girls he's met around here and she sticks out like a sore thumb. They meet and there is something between them but, Sawyer is there for a reason, something to do with her family and she won't tell Aden. Will she let in Aden in? Or will it be too late and before he knows it she's gone?
A beautiful story. It deals with a lot in this book that you just want to give both of these characters a big hug.
Sawyer has something terrible happening at her home and coming to this beach town is something she needs to do as she made a promise. She knows that the outcome won't be great but, she never thought of meeting Aden and possibly falling for him. But, how can you let someone fall for you if you're pretending to be someone you're not? Sawyer will find her true self in this book. How to break free and just live life to the fullest.
Aden is heartbroken over what happened in the Army. He blames himself for what happened and meeting Sawyer changes things for him. She's a breath of fresh air and he's ready to let her in, is she ready to do the same? And what will he do when he finds out her secret?
I really love this book. I love the characters and how they dealt with things. They are both going through something tough and dealing with it in their own ways but, meeting each other is something they both needed.
A wonderful book from J.B and I cannot wait to see what they write next!
